I don’t use a robo advisor. Started my portfolio in 2013 with a chunk of money in the S&P 500 and then have been picking a stock or two a month since then. When robo advisors started becoming popular I liked the idea, but considered my original allocation to the S&P as the passive part of my portfolio. Didn’t need to double up, and didn’t need someone else to tell me to do what I was already doing.
